Plumbers working to clean a drain line opened a catch basin behind 819 Howard St. yesterday afternoon and found a body inside.

Evanston police say the body was partially wrapped in plastic.

The police, in a news release late last night, said they don’t yet know how long the body had been in the catch basis, nor did they know the age, race or gender of the victim.

The North Regional Major Crimes Task Force has been called in to investigate the incident.

The police say they plan to hold a news conference early this afternoon to provide an update on the investigation.
