Don your flannel-lined swim trunks or swimsuit and participate in the Evanston Polar Plunge on Saturday, Feb. 28 at Northwestern University’s North Beach.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run “polar plunge” is the single largest year-round fundraising event benefiting Special Olympics Illinois.

Sign up by contacting Officers Bernhardt or Carmichael at the Evanston Police Department, 847-866-5000 or register online.

Individuals must raise at least $75 in donations from friends, family and co-workers to participate in the Polar Plunge.

Event day registration is at 11 a.m. and swimmers take to the water at 1 p.m. A post-plunge party will be held at 1:30 p.m. at a location to be announced.
