An Evanston man was due in bond court today after being arrested by Chicago police for allegedly stealing Christmas presents from apartments in Chicago’s West Ridge neighborhood.

Police say Alston Rodgriguez, 18, of the 1700 block of Dobson Street, was spotted by officers climbing through a window of an apartment in the 2100 block of West Rosemont Avenue.

Police say he had also broken into other homes and that they recovered several stolen items, including Christmas presents, from him.

He now faces two felony counts of burglary, two of attempted burglary and a misdemeanor charge of obstructing a police officer.
