Evanston police say the body of an adult woman was found on the north side of the Evanston Township High School campus this morning.

Police say initial investigation indicates the person was not a staff member and that the campus is secure and there is no danger to students.

Police initially reported about 8 a.m. that they’d blocked traffic on Church Street between Dodge Avenue and Wildkit Drive for an unspecified investigation.

The street was reopened to traffic about 9:30 a.m.

Update 9/21/22: The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office has identified the victim as Kathy L. Judge, 63, of Evanston. The cause of her death is still under investigation.

Update 9/21/22, 4:45 p.m.: Evanston police report the medical examiner’s office has now determined that the death was a suicide.

Anyone who may be contemplating suicide is encouraged to contact the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline at 988 or 1-800-273-TALK (8255).
