Police have arrested a suspect in a string of laundry room break-ins in south Evanston.

Alderman Ann Rainey, 8th Ward, says Police Chief Richard Eddington told her the suspect, a Chicago resident, was taken into custody early Saturday morning and reportedly implicated himself in three recent burglaries east of Ridge Avenue after being shown a video tape of one of the incidents.

He also reportedly provided names of two other men allegedly committing burglaries in the area.

Police have promised to provide further details in a news release scheduled to be distributed later today.
