The Citizen Police Academy, established in 1995 is a 12-week program designed to give the participants a working knowledge of the Evanston Police Department and has produced over 800 graduates.

The 12-week program of classes and discussions is held on Thursday evenings from 7 to 9:30 p.m. The next session of the free program starts March 1, and the application deadline is Feb. 24.

The classes provide an in-depth view into various areas of law enforcement and encourages residents to develop a partnership with the department.
