An Evanston man has been arrested after allegedly accepting delivery of a package containing more than 14 pounds of marijuana.

Police Cmdr. Joseph Dugan says the arrest occured about 1 p.m. Friday as a result of cooperation between the department’s special operations group and a U.S. Postal Service interdection team.

Michael H. Perrine, 39, of 1862 Sherman Ave., was arrested at his home and charged with felony possession of cannabis.

He’s scheduled to appear on a date to be determined at Skokie district court.

  1. Why arrest him?

I'm surprised the city wanted to arrest him.  Wasn't he just providing a commodity the city fathers did not consider "all that bad"–given laws they revised and "medical marijuana" they are so hot to get within the city.  [Maybe it works maybe not but I won't be surprised at the 'resale' market yet to come.]
