Evanston Police say they’re investigating the death of an 11-month-old child.

Police say paramedics were called to a home in the 2000 block of Dodge Avenue shortly after 4 p.m. on Monday and took the child to an area hospital. She was then transferred to Children’s Memorial Hospital for more specialized care and died there.

The Chicago Tribune reports the county medical examiner’s office has ruled the death a homicide and said the child, identified as Clarashea Hebron of the 0-99 block of East 59th Street in Chicago, was a victim of child abuse.
