Evanston police say they went into the pawn shop business a few months ago and they’ve scheduled a news conference for late this morning to talk about it.
Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart and Evanston Police Chief Richard Eddington are expected to show off a collection of allegedly stolen merchandise acquired while running the sting, show videos of transactions inside the shop and announce a large number of arrests.
Nice job, EPD
I’ll be glad to hear the specifics of this sting; I’m sure the conference will allow for more detail, but even this short release shows how police work is a cooperative effort – not just between police and citizens, but between different municipalities. Nice work!
