Evanston police are looking for a man who a 12-year-old girl said grabbed her as she was walking to Chute Middle School this morning.

Cmdr. Tom Guenther says the girl was near the intersection of South Boulevard and Florence Avenue about 7:50 a.m. when the man grabbed her arms and began to twist them.

The girl asked him to let go, but said he responded, "No, you’re coming with me."

She then reportedly kicked him in the leg, broke free and ran to the school.

Guenther says police searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, about 48 years of age, dressed all in black — with black coat, jeans, boots, gloves and a half ski-type mask.

Guenther says police plan additional neighborhood patrols in the area and that no similar incidents have been reported recently.
