Update 7:55 p.m.: Police say the missing man now has been located safely.
Earlier story: Evanston police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a 68-year-old Evanston man missing since early Tuesday evening.

Police say Jeffrey P. Moran was reported missing early this morning. He was last seen about 7 p.m. Tuesday when he left his home saying he was going to the Walgreen’s on Dempster Street in Skokie.

Moran is not believed to have a car or cell phone and police say he suffers from a medical issue that may affect his cognitive ability and sense of awareness.

He is described as a 5-foot-11-inch tall white male weighing 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a brown sweater, brown pants, tennis shoes and possibly carrying a tote bag.

Anyone with information related to this missing person is asked to call the Evanston Police Department at 847-866-5000.  Anyone believing they may have located him outside of Evanston is asked to call their local police department for an officer to respond.
