Evanson police are asking for the public’s help in locating a 15-year-old Evanston Township High School student who’s been missing for ten days.

Chanel Contreras

Police say relatives of Chanel Contreras reported her missing on Monday, Jan. 14. She reportedly attended morning classes at ETHS that day, but failed to return to school after lunch.

Detective Tanya Jordan of the police juvenile investigations unit says it’s believed Contreras may still be in the Evanston or Skokie area. Her family was planning to move to Newport News, Va. today.

She’s described as 5-feet-2-inches tall, weighing 175 pounds and wears glasses.

She was last seen wearing a black jacket with a fur hood, light blue jeans and gym shoes.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts can phone Detective Jordan at 847-866-5050.
