Police seek runners for Special Olympics

The Evanston Police Department is looking for folks to run or ride bikes to raise money for the Illinois Special Olympics on Sunday, June 6.

The two-mile run will begin at the Dominick’s at 2748 Green Bay Road at 10 a.m. when Wilmette police officers will pass the torch to Evanston police, who will carry the torch through downtown Evanston. The event ends at Evanston police headquarters with a celebration lunch.

The entry fee is a minimum $25 donation to the Illinois Special Olympics. For your donation, runners receive a 2010 Torch Run t-shirt  or hat! T-shirts, hats and pins will also be available for purchase to support the athletes.
