Evanston police have issued descriptions of two men they’re seeking in connection with a Friday morning robbery that left a disabled man hospitalized.

Police say when they were called to the Marathon Gas Station at 555 Howard St. they found the victim on the ground bleeding.

Police Cmdr. Jay Parrott says surveilance video images showed that the victim was walking on the sidewalk about 5:20 a.m. when two men approached him and one struck him in the head.

The robberys then took items from the victim’s pants pockets and fled.

The victim remains hopsitalized at St. Francis Hospital.

The suspects are described as two male blacks in their twenties. One was tall and thin, wearing a red shirt and a navy blue ball cap. The other was heavy set and wore a white t-shirt.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding this incident to please contact the Evanston Police Detective Bureau at 847-866-5040. Information regarding this robbery can also be sent via text by texting from a  cellular phone EPDTIP and the information to “274637”. All texting tips remain anonymous.
