Evanston police are seeking the public’s help in a locating a 24-year-old woman who’s been missing for a week from a residential care facility in the city.

Update 2:30 p.m. 6/29/16: Evanston police say the missing woman was located earlier today in Chicago by Evanston police detectives based on a tip from a family member.

Police Cmdr. Joseph Dugan says Aral Lea Johnson walked away from a residential care facility in the 1400 block of Chicago Avenue without permission about 11 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21.

Dugan says police don’t know where Johnson may have been heading and that she suffers from a mental health condition that requires medication that she did not have with her when she disappeared.

She’s described as being 5-feet-6-inches tall, weighing 125 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark colored shorts and a dark colored scarf.

Anyone with information on Johnson’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Evanston Police Department detective bureau at 847-866-5040. Information can also be given via Text-A-Tip at CRIMES (274637) and entering EPDTIP in the message line with the tip information.
