Evanston Police Sgt. Melvin Collier graduated from Northwestern University’s School of Police Staff and Command last week.

The intensive, 10-week program is designed to prepare law enforcement managers for senior positions by combining academic principles with practical applications.

Collier joined 30 other participants from police agencies around the country for the program’s 342nd session.

The program was redesigned lasst year to better incorporate adult and problem-based learning models.
