Police say that on Feb. 12 a man approached a soon-to-be victim and said he had $100,000 that he needed to donate before he returned to Sudan. The man said he’d entrust the funds to the victim and let the victim keep part of the money if the victim would show his trustworthiness by withdrawing some money from his bank.

So the victim drove to the bank with the suspect and a male accomplice and withdrew $6,000 — but when he returned to his car, the con man snatched the money from the victim’s hand and ran off.

Police say the same suspect was involved, along with a female accomplice, in a similar case in Chicago last December.
