This is the season for what the police refer to as “porch pirates,” who steal packages delivered to homes and apartments.  One such incident, in the 100 block of Ridge Avenue, is among the stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

EPD Comdr. Ryan Glew suggests having online purchases shipped to a workplace address or making an arrangement with a neighbor to pick up packages delivered to your home.

Someone broke the side window of a 2000 Buick near Darrow Avenue and Lyons Street between noon Sunday and 6:54 p.m. yesterday and stole a vehicle part inside.
