City of Evanston officials say that a power failure struck parts of the east side of Evanston shortly before 9:30 this morning.

The area affected reportedly runs from the lakefront west to Ridge Avenue and from Greenwood Street south to South Boulevard. About 2,300 customers reportedly are affected.

Cause isn’t known yet. ComEd is estimating they may have power restored by about 12:15 p.m. today.

Residents with questions can about when their power may be restored can call ComEd at 1-800-EDISON-1.

    It was our fourth power outage in about 3 weeks. We had two on Sunday, one at about midnight, another at about 3 a.m. We had one about a week before that but don’t remember exactly when.

    Yes it is! Several major outages in the past month – WHAT is going on with our Power in this area of the city?
