An armed robbery that involved two men and a knife occurred at 3:30 a.m. Friday at Maple Avenue and Dempster Street. This among the stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Robbery

Maple at Dempster

Nothing was taken in a pre-dawn tussle, at 3:30 a.m. Friday, between two men, one of whom had a knife, at Maple Avenue and Dempster Street

Battery

203 Elmwood

Eugene P. Davis, 46, of 203 Elmwood Ave., was arrested at that address at 12:42 a.m. today and charged with domestic battery. He is due in court on March 18 at 9:30 a.m.

1454 Elmwood

Lindsey Amie Mims, 27, of 221 Richmond St., was arrested at Evanston police headquarters at 6:35 p.m. Saturday and charged with domestic battery. She is due in court on March 18 at 9:30 a.m.

Burglary

2200 Ridge

A purse and photo equipment were among items taken in the burglary of an apartment in the 2200 block of Ridge Avenue between 3 a.m. Friday and 7:45 a.m. Saturday.

2100 Dobson

Someone attempted to steal a 2015 Honda in the 2100 block of Dobson Street between 8:10 p.m. Saturday and 3:46 p.m. yesterday, but the key was found broken inside the ignition.

Criminal Damage

Someone broke the rear window of a 2011 Honda in the 1300 block of Wesley Avenue between 9 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. yesterday.

1900 Hartrey

A fence was damaged at an apartment in the 1900 block of Hartrey Avenue between noon on Saturday and 1 p.m. yesterday.

900 Austin

The side mirror was damaged on a 2013 Honda in the 900 block of Austin Street between 9:15 p.m. on March 2 and 11 a.m. Friday.

1725 Dewey

Malik W. Muhammad, 28, of 9980 Honey Lane, Des Plaines, was arrested at 1725 Dewey Ave. at 1:57 p.m. yesterday and charged with criminal damage to property. He is due in court on April 22 at 9 a.m.

Theft

1700 Orrington

A purse left unattended at the Evanston Public Library was stolen between 11 a.m. and 12:05 p.m. Saturday.

1600 Foster

A cell phone left unattended at the Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center in the 1600 block of Foster Street was taken between 2:45 p.m. and 5 p.m. Friday.

1900 Darrow

A 2008 Pontiac was stolen from the 1900 block of Darrow Avenue around 9 p.m. yesterday.

300 Custer

License plates were taken from a 2007 Toyota in the 300 block of Custer Avenue between noon Thursday and 8:30 a.m. yesterday.

Traffic

2422 Dempster

Kyren Fershawn McShan, 21, of 2405 Lyons St., was arrested at 2422 Dempster St. at 3:30 a.m. Saturday and charged with driving under the influence. He is due in court on March 25 at 9 a.m.

550 Sheridan

Oscar Ortega Guzman, 41, of 6316 W. Roscoe Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 550 Sheridan Square at 1:58 a.m. Saturday and charged with driving under the influence.

1700 Maple

Odain D. Richards, 26, of 716 Dobson St., was arrested at 1700 Maple Ave. at 3:58 p.m. Thursday and charged with a traffic violation.

216 Dodge

Juan Manuel Torres Franco, 36, of 2235 Maryland Ave., Green Bay, Wis., was arrested at 216 Dodge Ave. at 8:44 a.m. Friday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on April 17 at 1:30 p.m.  

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
