Township and precinct level results from Tuesday’s presidential primary, released late this afternoon by the Cook County Clerk’s Office, show that Evanston voters gave almost the same level of support to Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders as did voters all across the county’s suburbs.

Biden drew 62.72% of the vote in Evanston, compared to 62.73% overall. Sanders got 33.36% of the vote in Evanston, compared to 32.88% across suburban Cook.

In the race for delegates to the Democratic National Convention from the 9th Congressional District, Jill Wine-Banks of Evanston, Christopher J. Dunn of Wilmette, David Y. Ko of Skokie, Aurora Austriaco of Park Ridge, Martin Moylan of Des Plaines and Marcia Blumenthal Fields of Winnetka were selected as potential delegates backing Biden.

Meg Welch of Evanston and Carolyn Townsend of Arlington Heights were the only would-be Sanders delegates who made the cut, with a total of eight names to be selected.
