A 75-year-old woman answered the door and found a “landscaper” who lured her to the rear yard. A burglary then ensued. This among stories in Friday’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

BURGLARY
1100 Ashland
The man at the door lured his victim, a 75-year-old woman, to her rear yard in the 1100 block of Ashland Avenue while another suspect presumably entered through the front and took a number of items from her home. The incident, similar to others that have happened from time to time, occurred between 3:30 p.m. and 7:26 p.m. Thursday.

2200 Simpson
A suspect gained entry to an unlocked garage in the 2200 block of Simpson Street between 9 p.m. Sunday and 12:52 p.m. Thursday and took a bicycle and some tools.

2300 Ridge
Someone forced open a service door to a garage in the 2300 block of Ridge Avenue between 8:10 a.m. and 8:42 a.m. Thursday and took a bicycle.

700 Howard
Windows were broken and cash and food items were taken at a laundromat in the 700 block of Howard Street between 9:30 p.m. Tuesday and 6:45 a.m. Wednesday and again at 6:51 a.m. Thursday and 5:14 a.m. Friday.

BATTERY
720 Custer
Ilya Kutik, 61, of 720 Oakton St., was arrested at 720 Custer Ave. at 12:11 p.m. Tuesday and charged with domestic battery.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
2100 Ridge
Someone used a rock to break a window at a residence in the 2100 block of Ridge Avenue between 5 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. Thursday.

THEFT
2500 Harrison
A 2020 Volvo was stolen from the 2500 block of Harrison Street between 10 p.m. Wednesday and 7:41 a.m. Thursday.1100 Chicago

1100 Chicago
Food items were taken from the Jewel-Osco grocery store in the 1100 block of Chicago Avenue at 4:12 p.m. Thursday.

1900 Sherman
A package that had been delivered to a residence in the 1900 block of Sherman Avenue was stolen around 3:30 a.m. Sunday.

Incidents listed are among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
