Evanston resident Jennifer Pritzker today was named one of the nation’s 50 most influencial LGBT figures by the gay lifestyle website Out.

Pritzker, a grandaughter of the founder of the Hyatt hotel chain, becomes the first transgender woman to make the Out list.

With a net worth estimated at $1.8 billion, Pritzker was also recently listed as one of the world’s seven LGBT billionares by Forbes.

A retired army lieutenant colonel, she is CEO of private wealth management firm Tawani Enterprises and one of 11 billionaires in the Pritzker family.

Pritzker, 63, announced last August that she was changing her gender identity.

She has won approval in recent years from the Evanton City Council to convert two lakefront homes near her own residence to bed and breakfast establishments, but the City Council turned down her proposal to buy the city-owned lakefront Harley Clarke mansion and expand it for use as a boutique hotel.

She also acquired a property across from ETHS last year with plans to turn it into a learning center for youth.

At number 23 on the Out list, She ranked between media mogul David Geffen at 22 and U.S. Rep. Mark Takano at 24.
