Evanston’s Jennifer Pritzker will be one of three honorees at the Landmarks Illinois annual Legendary Landmarks celebration.
She’ll be joined in receiving the honor by the Neal Family and the construction firm W.E. O’Neil.
Landmarks Illinois President Bonnie McDonald says, “Not only does Jennifer Pritzker value historic preservation, she willingly acts as a catalyst for change.”
McDonald said W.E. O’Neil, which has renovated several historic theaters in Chicago, is a leader in sustainable building practices and the Neal Family — Isobel Neal, Jeanette Sublett and Langdon Neal — have shown dedication to preservation and stewardship in Chicago.
The fundraising event will be held at the Hiton Chicago Grand Ballroom on Monday, March 7. Tickets are available online.
The celebration has honored noted Chicagoans since 2006 for their contributions to the city’s civic and cultural legacy, and their belief that a great city is defined by its legendary architecture.
Proceeds will in part benefit Landmarks Illinois’ Preservation Heritage Grant Fund, which provides financial assistance for the revitalization of historically and architecturally significant properties statewide.
Pritzker, a retired U.S. Army officer, has restored a variety of properties on Chicago’s north side and in Evanston.
And If We Are Very Lucky…
…she will have the opportunity to restore many more! Congratulations Jennifer…thank you for improving Evanston with your style, grace and impeccable taste.
jennifer pritzker as a landmark
we are so fortunate to have jennifer living in evanston and contributing funds for the restoration of landmark homes here, as well as putting them to new use. what a wonderful avocation to have, or is it now her vocation?
i hope that all of my progressive friends and neighbors who made such snarky comments about her b and b plans a couple of years ago are feeling quite sheepish.
congratulations, jennifer.
