Jeff Smith has won endorsement of the state board of the Independent Voters of Illinois-Independent Precinct Organization and U.S. Rep. Mike Quigley.

The IVI-IPO state board last week ratified the unanimous Dec. 6 vote of its Far North chapter to endorse Smith. The IVI-IPO, with roots dating to 1944, is the a multi-issue political organization dedicated to reform issues.

The IVI-IPO state board last week ratified the unanimous Dec. 6 vote of its Far North chapter to endorse Smith. The IVI-IPO, with roots dating to 1944, is the a multi-issue political organization dedicated to reform issues.

Quigley, a former Cook County Commissioner, said in a statement that Smith “is the smart, idealistic, and courageous kind of leader we need in Illinois government right now. He knows the law, but more important, he knows people, and cares deeply about how unfair tax policy treats working families and small businesses.”
