Graffiti

2700 Hurd

The racially objectionable “N” word was carved onto a rubber bridge on the playground at Willard Elementary School over the weekend. It was discovered by a parent and reported to police and District 65 officials.

Assault

1567 Dodge

Tracy S. Williams, 42, of 1567 Dodge Ave., was arrested at that address at 5:38 p.m. Friday and charged with aggravated assault. A court date has been set for March 21 at 9:30 a.m.

1335 Howard

Keith D. Wint, 41, of 2433 W. Fargo Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 1335 Howard St. at 2:24 p.m .Friday and charged with assault. He is due in court on May 7 at 9 a.m.

Battery

1600 Dodge

Christian A. Hammond, 27, of 1712 Dodge Ave., was arrested at 1600 Dodge Ave. at 3:53 p.m. Thursday and charged with battery. He is due in court on April 18 at 1:30 p.m.

Burglary

900 Judson

Tools and documents were taken from an unlocked 2006 Subaru in an apartment parking space in the 900 block of Judson Ave. between 2 p.m. on March 4 and 9 a.m. Saturday.

400 Howard

A musical instrument, stereo equipment, and alcoholic products were stolen from an apartment in the 400 block of Howard Street between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Friday.

1325 Howard

Steven C. Dykes, 31, of 1818 Brown Ave., was arrested at 1325 Howard St. at 7:22 p.m. Friday and charged with unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.

Robbery

1500 Sherman

A cell phone case and cash were taken in an armed robbery in the 1500 block of Sherman Avenue around 12:23 p.m. Saturday.

Theft

1200 Chicago

A purse was removed from a shopping cart at Trader Joe’s on Chicago Avenue around 2:30 p.m. yesterday.

900 Church

Clothing items were taken from a store in the 900 block of Church Street around 1:04 p.m. yesterday.

100 Asbury

Some merchandise was reported stolen from the CVS Pharmacy in the 100 block of Asbury Avenue at about 10:30 a.m. Friday.

Traffic

807 Howard

Willie Anthony Mills, 39, of 2811 Glen Flora Ave., Waukegan, was arrested at 807 Howard St. at 2:56 p.m. Friday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on March 30 at 10:30 a.m.

Ridge at Washington

Danielle A. Pillow, 30, of 835 Case St., was arrested at Ridge Avenue and Washington Street at 12:56 a.m. today and charged with driving under the influence. She is due in court on April 4 at 10:30 a.m.

439 Dodge

Theodore R. Thomas, 48, of 1009 Florence Ave., was arrested at 439 Dodge Ave. at 3:38 p.m. Saturday and charged with driving under the influence. He is due in court on May 7 at 9 a.m.
