The Evanston Township High School Wildkits collected their second state boys basketball runner-up trophy Saturday after making it to the final four in back-to-back seasons for the first time in school history.

They fell 71-59 in the Class 4A championship game to Belleville West, and were the first Wildkit team to make it to the state final game since the 1983-84 season.

The school’s planning a rally today to welcome them back from the tournament in Peoria.

Starting at 2:30 p.m. the team will drive from ETHS north on Dodge Avenue to Foster Street, then east past the Fleetwood-Jourdain Center to Green Bay Road, then south to Emerson Street, east to Sherman Avenue, south to Lake Street, west to Dodge and back to the main entrance of Beardsley Gym at Door 52.

The rally will then take place at 3 p.m. in the gym.
