  1. Alderman Wilson in Traffic Accident?

Bill, as always, great reporting on City Council matters that affect all of us.  You provide a really great service with this.

At the end of your report:

"Bobkiewicz notes Alderman Wilson had an accident on his bicycle this morning … and ended up leaving the meeting to go to the emergency room. "

But I see no news article about this.  How is the Alderman doing? Going to the emergency room suggests something serious…will he be OK?  Did the driver of the car who hit him get ticketed?

    1. Accident

      Hi Tom,

The city manager tells me Wilson is now back home. Drove himself to the hospital. Had x-rays taken. Nothing broken.

Update 6:20 p.m.: Don Wilson has e-mailed an update saying he was actually out for a run rather than a bike ride when the accident happened:

"It was a bit dark and I tripped doing a fast interval and went sliding on the sidewalk concrete and into a tree. I called home and got a ride (and several kind passers-by had offered assistance). I thought I could try to make it through the budget presentations but was in just too much pain, so I left early and I went over to Northshore. X-rays came out fine and now I have been sentenced to a few days rest."
