Some neighbors are planning to host a reception for employees of the Evanston Plaza Dominick’s store on Monday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Organizer Dickelle Fonda says neighbors want to thank the employees “who’ve served this community with grace and dignity” before the store closes in a few days.

“We will set up a table with a banner thanking them on which neighbors and customers can write their own messages,” Fonda says.

She says many of the employees have worked at the store for many years and she wants to “let them know they will be missed and wish them well.”

A similar reception was held Friday afternoon for employees of the other Evanston Dominick’s store on Green Bay Road.
