The head of the Illinois Reform Commission, Patrick Collins, will be the featured speaker when the Democratic Party of Evanston holds its annual membership meeting on June 14.
The head of the Illinois Reform Commission, Patrick Collins, will be the featured speaker when the Democratic Party of Evanston holds its annual membership meeting on June 14.
Collins will discuss the work of the commission, appointed by Governor Pat Quinn, and the outcome of effort to get legislators to implement the commission’s proposals.
The meeting at 4 p.m. at the Levy Center, 300 Dodge Ave., will also include presentations by U.S. Rep. Jan Schakowsky, State Sen. Jeff Schoenberg and County Commissioner Larry Suffredin.
The group will also elect officers and board members. The slate of nominees includes Daniel Biss, president; Adam Finlayson, vice president; Mark Foisy, treasurer; Ellen Collar, director of finance; Rene Rivera, director of communications, and Joanne Zolomij, director of membership.
Board candidates include Roberta Buchanan, Anjana Hansen, Christopher Hart, Ginny Holbert, Michelle Kavoosi, Robert Kreisman, Dan Lowman, Brian Miller, Jonathan Nieuwsma, Samantha Reed, Marie Wilson and John Zbesko.
