The Renovo String Orchestra offers a pre-Valentines Day concert, Romantic Abandon, at the Music Institute of Chicago on Friday, Feb. 10.
The 7:30 p.m. concert in the institute’s Nichols Hall at 1490 Chicago Ave. in Evanston, features some of the most well known string works from the Romantic era — including Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in D minor and Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings.
The program will also feature the American premier of Aleksandar Simic’s “In Memoriam.”
Special guest artists include Benjamin Weber on Viola and Dmitri Pogorelov on Violin.
Tickets, ranging in price from $10 to $25, can be ordered online.
