The North Branch of the Evanston Public Library will close Friday at 6 p.m. and will not reopen until 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 5, due to construction.

The branch, located at 2026 Central St., will be getting new carpeting as well as shelving and repairs to the stucco façade on the front of the library.

While closed, patrons can still renew items online or by calling (847)590-8706.

Because the North Branch’s book drop will be closed as well, materials to be returned should be dropped off at the main library, at 1703 Orrington Ave., or at the Chicago Ave./Main St. Branch at 900 Chicago Ave.
