The documentary “The Big Payback,” about the adoption of Evanston’s first-in-the-nation local reparations program, will be screened later this month at the Chicago Film Festival.

The film, from directors Erika Alexander and Whitney Dow, focuses on Ald. Robin Rue Simmons (5th) who championed the reparations program during her one term on the City Council starting in 2017.

The film festival screenings will be on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 22 and 23. The film will also be available online from Oct. 13 through Oct. 23.

Here’s a trailer for the documentary.
