Northwestern University reportedly will announce tomorrow the largest gift in the school’s history.

Chicago Business reports that the donation is coming from Roberta Buffett, a 1954 NU alum who happens to be the youngest sister of billionaire Warren Buffett.

The new donation — said to be larger than the previous record donation of $75 million set in 2002 — reportedly will strengthen the schools global studies center, already named after Roberta Buffett.

The story says NU President Morton Schapiro sent a cryptic memo to faculty and staff Monday inviting them to attend an announcement Wednesday of what he called a “transformative gift,” without naming the donor or the amount of the gift.
