There are just three days left for candidates interested in running for seats on the Ridgeville Park District board to get their petition signatures in.
The district will have three vacancies to fill in the April 17 election.Â
Candidates will have to submit at least 75 valid petitions signatures to qualify for a spot on the ballot.
Candidates must live within the park district which serves the area from Greenleaf Street south to Howard Street and from the North Shore channel east to the Metra tracks.Â
The 2007 Candidates Guide which includes the necessary forms can be downloaded from the Illinois State Board of Election’s web site http://www.elections.il.gov/.Â
The deadline for filing petitions at the district office is 6 p.m. on Feb. 5.
The Park District is an independent government agency established in 1939 governed by five elected Commissioners. Regular monthly board meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month, at 7:45Â p.m. in the Community House, 908 Seward St.
