Evanston police are investigating a robbery that occurred in the pre-dawn hours Friday at an all-night McDonald’s on Howard Street.

According to Cmdr. Joseph Dugan, the suspect, a black male, entered through the drive-in window at about 4:15 a.m. at the McDonald’s in the 1100 block of Howard Street and ordered an employee to open the safe, where he grabbed about $1,250.

Then he exited the restaurant through the same drive-in window and fled, Dugan said.

The female employee suffered minor injuries in the altercation, but was not hospitalized, Dugan added.
