Evanston police say three young adults sitting in a car outside 741 Grey Ave. were accosted by three armed robbers shortly before 10 p.m. Monday.

Two of the robbers reportedly pulled one of the victims, a 20-year-old man, from the car, hit him on the head repeatedly with a black handgun and removed personal items from his pocket.

Meanwhile the third robber ordered a second victim, a 21-year-old man, to get on the ground and grabbed items out of his back pocket.

The robbers then fled on foot without taking anything from the third victim, an 18-year-old woman.

Police say the victims described all three robbers as black males between 18 and 25 years old.

They said the first robber was about 6-feet tall, with a medium build, dark complexion and gold teeth. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.

The other robbers — one short and the other of medium build — both were dressed all in black.
