Robbery suspects were unsuccessful in their attempt to steal a woman’s purse in the 500 block of Kedzie Street Monday afternoon. This among stories in Thursday’s daily crime report from Evanston police.
ROBBERY
500 Kedzie
Suspects in a vehicle approached a 70-year-old Milwaukee woman as she was entering her car in the 500 block of Kedzie Street at about 4:17 p.m. Monday. She told police that a passenger in the car reached out and tried to grab her purse that was strapped to her body, and pulled her to the ground. The suspects then fled. The victim was taken to Evanston Hospital and treated for minor injuries suffered as a result of the fall.

BURGLARY
Reba at Elmwood
A wallet was taken from an unlocked 2017 Hyundai near Reba Place and Elmwood Avenue between 6 p.m. Tuesday and 6 a.m. Wednesday.

Simpson at Pratt
Miscellaneous coins were taken from an unlocked 2015 Honda near Simpson Street and Pratt Court between 4 p.m. Sunday and 6 p.m. Monday.

700 Mulford
A purse and its contents were removed from an unlocked 2007 Dodge in the 700 block of Mulford Street between 1:30 a.m. and 8:04 a.m. Tuesday.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
600 Pitner
A window was reported damaged on a 2002 Nissan in a parking lot in the 600 block of Pitner Avenue between 12:15 p.m. and 12:32 p.m. Tuesday.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS
319 Dempster
Lawrence Finley, 43, address unknown, was arrested at 319 Dempster St. at 6 p.m. Wednesday and charged with criminal trespassing.

GRAFFITI
200 Custer
Graffiti in black spray paint was discovered on the street in the 200 block of Custer Avenue at 5:47 p.m. Wednesday.

THEFT
800 Greenleaf
Two bicycles were reported stolen in the vicinity of the Nichols Middle School in the 800 block of Greenleaf Street. One was a Novaro bicycle that was secured by a cable that was cut between 3:45 p.m. and 3:55 p.m. Monday. The other was a Stomper bicycle that was secured to a tree and taken between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Tuesday.

1800 South Boulevard
A catalytic converter was removed from a 2009 Honda in the 1800 block of South Boulevard between 3 p.m. Monday and 9:06 a.m. Wednesday.

1000 Ashland
License plates were removed from a vehicle in the 1000 block of Ashland Avenue around noon Sunday.

1400 Main
Lawn equipment was stolen from the yard of a home in the 1400 block of Main Street around 2 a.m. Wednesday.

1100 Chicago
Alcoholic products were stolen from Binny’s Beverage Depot in the 1100 block of Chicago Avenue between 4:43 p.m. Tuesday and 1:56 p.m. Wednesday.

1300 Ridge
A package was stolen from a residence in the 1300 block of Ridge Avenue between Feb. 7 and Feb. 9.

2100 Ridge
A package was stolen from a residence in the 2100 block of Ridge Avenue between 4:46 p.m. and 5:40 p.m. Wednesday.

100 Callan
An attempted theft was reported from a residence in the 100 block of Callan Avenue around 12:35 p.m. Wednesday.

2100 Green Bay
Personal care and medication products were stolen from Walgreens Pharmacy in the 2100 block of Green Bay Road around 7:19 p.m. Tuesday.
Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute an assumption of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place at Cook County 2nd District Court in Skokie.
