The Rockford Register Star reports that city’s police commission plans to keep testing and talking to its six police chief finalists for the rest of the week, after a meet-the-candidates forum Wednesday. Evanston Police Chief Frank Kaminski is one of the contenders for the job in Rockford, a town with twice the population of Evanston, and a 75 percent higher crime rate.
