Evanston police arrested a Rogers Park man today and charge him with several drug and weapons violations.

Police Cmdr. Jay Parrott says members of the department’s special operations group executed a search warrant at the home of Christopher G. Collins, 25, of 6972 N. Sheridan Road following an investigation into illegal drug sales in Evanston.

Parrott says the Evanston officers, assisted by officers from the Chicago Police Department’s 24th District, found crack cocaine, marijuana and two loaded handguns in the apartment.

Collins is scheduled to appear at 9 a.m. Feb. 4 at Skokie district court.
