Safety tour to visit last farmers' market

The City of Evanston's very last Farmers' Market of the season on Saturday, Nov. 3, will feature the Underwriters Laboratories National Safety Tour kick-off from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Participants will enjoy fun safety games designed for all ages, play the UL "Look for the Mark Challenge," try their hand at "PASSMaster," a fire extinguisher demonstration game, and interact with cool technology.

Additionally, participants can watch actual safety testing demonstrations and help children work their way through our "Fire Escape Obstacle Course."

The "Mobile Safety Tour" is free. The appearance of this interactive vehicle was made possible through the collaboration with the Evanston Department of Fire and Life Safety Services.

The Evanston Farmers' Market is open from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and located at the intersection of University Place and Oak Ave.

Underwriters Laboratories is an independent product safety certification organization that has been testing products and writing Standards for Safety for over a century.
