Santa will pay a special holiday visit to the Downtown Evanston office at 820 Davis St. on Saturday from noon to 4 p.m.

He’ll be there for kids to share their holiday wish lists with him and to give parents a chance to take pictures of their children with the lively symbol of the holiday.

For shoppers still wondering what to get someone on their list, the elves at Downtown Evanston will have a ready suggestion — a new Downtown Evanston Gift Card that can be redeemed for dining, goods and services at over 115 participating downtown Evanston businesses.

The card is available in denominations from $5 to $500 and can be purchased with Visa, MasterCard and Discover. The gift card operates on a closed loop system, which means it is valid only at participating downtown Evanston businesses, keeping funds in the community. Purchasers of the gift card will also receive a “Passport to Downtown Evanston” featuring valuable offers from businesses that welcome the gift card.

The gift cards are also available at the Downtown Evanston office from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday as well as at First Bank and Trust at 820 Church St. during regular banking hours.
