There’s a reward in store for kids who come to the Evanston Downtown Farmers Market this Saturday, dressed for Halloween.

The first 100 youngsters 10 and under who check in while in costume between 9 a.m. and noon will receive a small pumpkin ready to be decorated for the seasonal event.

Not only that, but these kids will also get a goody bag.  And they can win a big decorated pumpkin donated by Elko Farm, try to beat Mayor Hagerty in a pumpkin roll, and guess how much candy is in a jar.

The market is open from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at University Place and Oak Avenue, behind the Hilton Garden Inn. Free parking is available at the Maple Avenue Garage with validation at the City of Evanston tent.
