  1. Covid-19 Relief Bill

I am certainly proud to have a representative like Jan Schakowky, who has worked tirelessly to give working people who have lost their jobs to receive financial assistance during this extraordinary time. I just wish we had a government with the foresight of Denmark and Germany, who decided the best way to help workers was to be sure they retained their jobs in the first place. We should be giving companies money to keep paying their workers while their business shuts down, so there’s workers are immediately available again when the businesses re-open. Our system is so shortsighted, making people be fired in order to get relief. We could restrict the companies to using the money only for payrolls.
