U.S. Rep. Jan Schakowsky of Evanston says she’ll host her first-ever Twitter town hall on Thursday from her Twitter account @janschakowsky.

But she won’t be responding to live questions. Constituents can submit questions from 9 a.m. to noon. and she’ll respond from 6 to 7 p.m.

“I am always looking to use new ways to stay engaged with constituents,” Schakowsky said. “I encourage people to use this forum to ask me questions directly and I look forward to an informative discussion.”

To ask a question, include #AskJan within a tweet.  And Schakowsky says she’d like participants to mention the name of their town in their message as well.

Participants who are unable to get a question answered or have a follow-up question can contact her office or visit her Facebook page.
