Beginning in the fall all District 65 elementary schools will have at 9 a.m. start time and 3:20 p.m. dismissal time.
This will change the bell schedule for Lincoln, Lincolnwood and Oakton School families to match that of the other elementary schools in the district.
District officials say the uniform schedule will provide for greater efficiency in coordinating bus schedules and ensure equity in professional development for all elementary grade teachers during early release and half-day dismissals.
Families affected by this bell schedule change are being notified during the month of May to provide adequate time to plan for the later start and dismissal times. Magnet and middle school bell schedules will remain unchanged.
