Two local music clubs have announced auditions for scholarship competitions open to music students.

The Evanston Music Club will hold auditions on Monday, April 11, in the Skokie Public Library, 5215 Oakton St. in Skokie. Winners will perform at the club’s Scholarship Concert and Benefit Tea at 1 p.m. on May 16 at the library.

This competition is open to instrumentalists between the ages of 17 and 24 and to vocalists up to age 30. Former winners are not eligible. For applications, visit evanstonmusicclub.org or phone Bob Klassy at 847-217-3449. The application deadline is March 21.

The North Shore Musicians Club will hold auditions on Wednesday, March 2. Scholarship winners will present a recital and receive the awards at the NSMC’s scholarship recital at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, in the Skokie Public Library.

This competition is open to instrumentalists age 18 to 25 and to age 30 for singers. For applications phone Don Farley (847) 864-6944. Deadline for the NSMC’s applications is Feb. 11.
