Evanston Public Works crews are out scraping icy patches from side streets this morning, says Assistant Public Works Director James Maiworm.

Then, he says, later this morning crews will shift their attention to patching some large potholes that have developed from the freezing and thawing of recent days.

Maiworm says inspections this morning show streets are generally in good condition, but with some patchy slick spots on side streets.

Tonight the low temperature will be in the mid to upper 20’s so it will be important to treat any remaining icy conditions today, he added.

And next week, Maiworm says, pothole patching will be a significant focus for street operations.
