The Levy Senior Center at 300 Dodge Ave. in Evanston will close for a week later this month so crews can refinish wood floors and paint the building’s interior.

The shutdown will run from Monday, Dec. 16, through Sunday, Dec. 22. No programs classes or events will be held that week, although the office will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for customers to purchase taxi coupons, register for programs or pay the wheel tax.

During the shutdown, Levy Center fitness room members will be able to use the fitness room at Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center, 1655 Foster St. and Levy’s lunch program will relocate to Fleetwood.

The Levy Center bus will pick up participating seniors to take them to lunch and back home.
