Limited supplies of coupons for income-eligible seniors to use at two Farmers’ Markets in Evanston are available through the Commission on Aging during normal business hours, Mondays through Fridays, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in room G600 of the Evanston Civic Center, 2100 Ridge Ave.
The coupons come in books of seven $3 checks that seniors can use with vendors designated with an “FMNP” sign on their booths. These vendors can be found at the Evanston Farmers’ Market in Downtown Evanston or at the West End Market at the corner of Church and Dodge.
Only one check booklet will be issued per participant. The checks are only valid for fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables and cannot be replaced if lost, stolen or misplaced.
Coupons expire on Oct. 31. The program is co-sponsored by the Illinois Departments of Aging and Human Services. For further information on senior coupons for the Farmers’ Market, call the Commission on Aging, (847) 866-2919.
